Graphical password strategy
In a computer security system there are three main areas where computer human-interactions is very important .They are authentication, security operations, and developing secure systems. We mainly focus on authentication problem.
Till now computer and network security has been intervened as a technical problem. A key area in security research is authentication, the determination of whether a user should be allowed access to a given system or resource. To submit username and password is the common authentication method. The most common problem found is that remembering passwords. Passwords are delicate and easy to forget . Therefore, a user has to put a password in such a way that it will be easy for him to remember. The user should change his password frequently in order to avoid problems. The user should no write down a password in a paper or somewhere that it would b easy to get that password . Passwords should be in such a way that it should be very hard to guess.
This strategy can also be used in Bsc It Projects by students for better understanding and spread of the subject. There are many problems which has been faced due do these text passwords and in order to overtake these problems researchers have invented other proof by knowledge authentication methods i.e, graphical passwords. Graphical Passwords are more advanced form of security to protect your data.
The advantages of graphical passwords are as follows:
- A sequence of pictures is more memorable than a sequence of characters.
- Pictures are independent from user’s language.
- There do not exist yet special dictionaries for a dictionary attack and it is very difficult to be constructed (especially for graphical passwords that have a very large password space).
- Automated attacks are difficult to take place.
Developers are working on more innovative solutions for improving such password schemes that help in modeling the memorability and increasing the security of graphical passwords. Lets hope we acquire a very secure level of structure more intuitively than our current system to protect graphical passwords from bieng compromised.
